Our History

Our story starts in 2002, when chef Tom Stoner had the idea to open a soup shop using fresh, local ingredients.


Tom began building partnerships with local farmers, ranchers, businesses, and nonprofits like the Food Bank for Larimer County.  His goal was to serve, help build, and feed the community he loved and called home.


Tom opened the doors in Spring 2003 at the Northern Hotel in Old Town.

Community Efforts

Working with the Food Bank for Larimer County, we established the Stone Soup program, a community effort to help families in need.  Sold at the Farmer’s Market,  Stone Soup  is a delicious, ever-changing soup made from ingredients donated by local farms.


Christmas Eve dinners for the homeless include wholesome, fresh soups and our homemade focaccia bread.


We’re a member of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association, Visit Fort Collins and the Campus West Merchant Association.


We’re active in community events like:
