Tom “Chef” Stoner, Founder and Owner
Tom is all about passion. He’s passionate for quality, that attribute carried him through a career as executive chef in some of the most extraordinary, five-star resort hotels. Passion for great food; he’s always working on perfection. Passion for his family; not only his wife, Renee, and daughter, Malia, but also his Spoons family.
And he is passionate for Spoons and how it provides the opportunity to serve Fort Collins healthy options using local ingredients, whenever possible, and giving back to the community in many ways.
Tom loves living in Fort Collins and enjoys time outdoors biking, gardening, and spending time with family. And of course, he loves to cook.
Brandon Hocke, Chief Executive Officer
Brandon has worked with Spoons since November 2003 (he stepped away in 2009 for a year to work as a chef at the Greenbriar Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia).
He has worked in every position at Spoons, from counter server to driver to caterer — all the way to baker, store manager, General Manager and, ultimately, Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, he oversees all aspects of the business, striving to create the highest quality product and delivered with unparalleled customer service.
He remains with Spoons because he loves what the company stands for: community, quality and a healthy lifestyle. Brandon has a passion for seeing the local food system thrive, a passion for living a healthy, active life and a passion for quality and doing things right, all things that Spoons embodies as part of its core values.
In his free time, Brandon is a competitive Olympic weightlifter, gardens and goes to the farmers market. He loves getting on his bike on a summer day, riding to one of Fort Collins’ many breweries and hanging out on the patio with a good beer.
Brandon attended CSU and has a bachelor’s degree in history.
Malia Stoner, Chief Innovation Officer
Malia started working at Spoons at the age of 8, bussing tables and washing dishes. When she was tall enough to reach the soups, she was on the line and fell in love with customer service and working with people. She worked at Spoons until she went to college and shifted gears, earning a degree in Theatre Arts and joining the Actors Equity Association as a Stage Manager. Though that career is Malia’s biggest passion, family will always come first.
She watched her Dad conceptualize, create, and grow this business for the past 18 years and is so proud of everything that he has achieved. Having the opportunity to work alongside him and help the Spoons team grow is a blessing. She enjoys the challenge of juggling analytics, programing, social media, marketing, designing, and everything else that gets thrown her way. It may not be theatre, but it’s definitely a production!
Her favorite thing about Spoons is the community it creates and stands for. Everyone on staff brings a special spark to the team and she loves watching how all of these pieces come together. Spoons also takes such great strides to be an active part of the Fort Collins community and supporting local whenever possible.
Dave Nawrocki, Chef
He chose to work at Spoons because it is located in beautiful Fort Collins, CO. He started in the foodservice industry in 1973 at a corner bakery, moved into fast food diner style restaurants, then on to high end country clubs, resorts and hotels. He is very grateful for all the wonderful experiences of living and chefing in Durango CO, the Big Island of Hawaii, San Francisco, Napa Valley and Monterey California.
When he is not at work he can be found enjoying bike rides on the many bike paths around town, swimming in the Poudre river on hot days, and camping up the Poudre Canyon.
Hannah LeMoine, General Manager
Hannah has been with Spoons for eight years! Her favorite item on our menu is the French Onion soup when we have it, and our Spoons take on the Reuben. Hannah’s favorite part about Spoons is the sense of camaraderie and teamwork! The Spoons life chose her, not limited to reasons such as her relentless energy and eagerness for a good challenge. While she may have gone to Colorado State University for an Arts degree, she always knew her passion laid within the service industry. Fort Collins is intrinsically Hannah, as this is her hometown! She has enjoyed watching it grow and evolve, while still feeling like home. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, snowboarding, playing rugby, spending time with family, and generally being outdoors!
Tonya Nicodemus, General Manager
Meet Tonya! She is one of our General Managers and has been with us for a little over 3 years. Her favorite menu item is the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. Tonya’s favorite thing about working for Spoons is the sense of community we stand for and building relationships with fellow co-workers. She has 15 years of restaurant experience along with 10 years of leadership experience. She has a passion for helping others grow in our industry. Tonya is from Denver but has lived in the Loveland area for most of her life. When she’s not at work you can catch her spending time with her friends, family, or animals.
Haley Bushee, Store Leader
Haley has been a part of the Spoons family since July of 2019. She loves how involved Spoons is with collaborative culinary community in Fort Collins, and is passionate about sourcing local products. The creativity and uniqueness is what drew Haley to Spoons, but her love for serving and building relationships with her regulars is what continues to motivate her. Haley’s favorite menu item is the Tuna Melt with chipotle mayo. When Haley isn’t at work, she loves to be out hiking, rollerblading, or camping.
Ashley Hart, Shift Lead
Ashley has been with Spoons since June 2016. When she isn’t working, she can be found exploring one of the trails around Fort Collins, drawing, or reading a book with a cat in her lap. Ashley’s favorite items on the menu are the Beef Melt sandwich and our White Chicken chili soup.
Anna Goering (Heider), Store Leader
Although her time at Spoons has just begun, Anna has worked in food service for nearly a decade. She grew up in Colorado and graduated from UNC in Greeley with a degree in Music Education. When she is not at work, Anna fills her time as a freelance French Hornist. Her favorite item on the menu is the Strawberry Harvest Salad. Anna was drawn to Spoons for the community/family feel, and the dedication to quality food and service.
Taylor Jongsma, Assistant Store Leader
Taylor has been at Spoons for almost two years. Her favorite thing on our menu is the Chipotle Chicken sandwich. Taylor’s favorite thing about Spoons is its involvement in the community. She grew up in Fort Collins, so the fact that Spoons does so much for the community means so much to her., When not at work, you can find Taylor spending time in the outdoors with her husband and dog.
Kaity Ivy, Shift Lead
Kaity has been working at Spoons for about a year and a half. Her favorite menu item is the Grilled Cheese with Chipotle Mayo and the Creamy Country Chicken Soup. She grew up in Colorado and is now in Fort Collins and going to school at CSU studying sociology and psychology.
Hannah Kennedy, Store Leader
Hannah has been working at Spoons for a year now and she has 11 years in the food and customer service industry. She loves the local options that Spoons has to offer and the great relationships we get to have with our coworkers and community. She chose Spoons because it was a small local business that could offer more than corporations. She is passionate about cooking, kayaking, and being outdoors. Her favorite menu item is the Buffalo Chicken Wrap.
Elle Wezensky, Shift Lead
Elle has been working for Spoons for three years! She chose to work at Spoons because she saw happy workers as a customer and wanted to join a team that enjoyed and believed in their work. She loves the community among coworkers and support of local farms and resources. Elle has worked in the food industry since high school and this has been her favorite place to work. She spent five years at CSU where she studied Sociology and played women’s rugby. In her free time, she loves rock climbing and reading. Her favorite item on the menu is the Pesto Goat Cheese sandwich.
Maria Nateras, Assistant Store Leader
Maria has worked for Spoons for a little over three years! At Spoons, Maria enjoys making strong friendships with her peers and working for a local restaurant. Maria initially came to Fort Collins to study at CSU. However, soon after graduating from CSU, she decided to continue her education and work towards achieving her Massage Therapy License. Maria’s favorite menu item is the Spicy Southwest Chicken salad.
Katherine Joyal, Shift Lead
This is Katherine! She is a shift lead at our Campus West location. She has been with Spoons for over 3 years now while also attending CSU (graduating December 2020!). Her favorite thing on the menu has to be the Strawberry Harvest salad or our Ham and Swiss sandwich, it makes for a great combination of salty and sweet!

Gabrielle has been working at Spoons since January of 2019, with her food & customer service experience going back to 2015. Her favorite menu item is our Minnesota chicken Wild Rice Soup paired with our Apple Poppyseed salad. She has recently moved to Fort Collins and has quickly come to love everything about our community.

Alec has been working at Spoons for about 3 years. He loves Fort Collins and was born and raised here. Outside of work you’ll find him going to “church” which is going to Edora Park every Sunday morning and playing disc gold with great friends and having a good time.
